Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Textile sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Crowell (TW:2528), which rose 10.00% or 1.10 points to trade at 12.10 at the close. Sintronic Tech (TW:3536) added 9.95% or 2.10 points to end at 23.20 and Alpha Networks (TW:3380) was up 9.89% or 2.60 points to 28.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genesis Photon (TW:3383), which lost 10.00% or 0.36 points to trade at 3.24 in late trade. Pihsiang (TW:1729) declined 9.90% or 1.90 points to end at 17.30 and Enlight Corp (TW:2438) shed 7.16% or 0.72 points to 9.33.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 394 to 364 and 117 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.51% or 0.25 to $48.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.37% or 0.19 to hit $51.46 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.59% or 7.30 to trade at $1243.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.07% to 30.133, while TWD/CNY rose 0.35% to 0.2301.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 97.80.
