Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the General Retailers, Beverage and Aerospace & Defense sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.20%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Kering SA (PARIS:PRTP), which rose 2.21% or 3.35 points to trade at 155.00 at the close. Peugeot SA (PARIS:PEUP) added 2.03% or 0.32 points to end at 16.07 and Accor SA (PARIS:ACCP) was up 2.00% or 0.85 points to 43.41 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Schneider Electric SE (PARIS:SCHN), which lost 2.28% or 1.29 points to trade at 55.36 in late trade. Bouygues SA (PARIS:BOUY) declined 1.64% or 0.56 points to end at 33.69 and ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) shed 1.57% or 0.10 points to 6.21.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Korian Medica SA (PARIS:KORI) which rose 6.88% to 32.300, JC Decaux SA (PARIS:JCDX) which was up 5.70% to settle at 34.20 and Genfit (PARIS:GNFT) which gained 3.52% to close at 40.250.
The worst performers were Solocal Group (PARIS:LOCAL) which was down 13.67% to 0.240 in late trade, Montupet SA (PARIS:MNTP) which lost 10.68% to settle at 60.460 and Maurel Et Prom (PARIS:MAUP) which was down 3.92% to 3.65 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 388 to 316 and 63 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 2.72% to 25.61.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.14% or 1.60 to $1117.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.30% or 0.14 to hit $47.01 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.66% or 0.82 to trade at $48.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.1314, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.7285.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 95.40.
