Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Glass and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 1.05% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Logah (TW:3593), which rose 10.00% or 0.95 points to trade at 10.45 at the close. Shinkong Texti (TW:1419) added 9.99% or 4.00 points to end at 44.05 and Teapo (TW:2375) was up 9.80% or 2.00 points to 22.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Asmedia (TW:5269), which lost 9.87% or 29.50 points to trade at 269.50 in late trade. Inventec Besta (TW:8201) declined 9.76% or 1.80 points to end at 16.65 and E-Lead Elec (TW:2497) shed 9.65% or 3.70 points to 34.65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 767 to 71 and 36 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.41% or 0.22 to $52.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $55.64 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.89% or 11.35 to trade at $1289.45 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.17% to 30.373, while TWD/CNY fell 0.13% to 0.2265.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 100.49.
