Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Auto sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were K.S. Terminals (TW:3003), which rose 10.00% or 3.90 points to trade at 42.90 at the close. King Core (TW:6155) added 9.84% or 1.85 points to end at 20.65 and Lotes (TW:3533) was up 9.80% or 10.00 points to 112.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Test Research (TW:3030), which lost 6.38% or 4.50 points to trade at 66.00 in late trade. Hong Yi Fiber (TW:1452) declined 5.44% or 2.10 points to end at 36.50 and Yieh Hsing Ent (TW:2007) shed 5.24% or 0.21 points to 3.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 494 to 350 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.43% or 0.24 to $56.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.24% or 0.15 to hit $61.92 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.34% or 4.00 to trade at $1167.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.82% to 30.890, while TWD/CNY rose 0.10% to 0.2013.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 96.19.
