Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Electronic Products Distribution and Textile sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.07% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Ace Pillar (TW:8374), which rose 9.96% or 1.40 points to trade at 15.45 at the close. Waffer Tech (TW:6235) added 7.60% or 1.30 points to end at 18.40 and Wha Yu (TW:3419) was up 5.99% or 0.95 points to 16.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bizlink (TW:3665), which lost 7.26% or 13.00 points to trade at 166.00 in late trade. Twinhead Intl (TW:2364) declined 5.63% or 0.090 points to end at 1.510 and Tainan Cayman (TW:5906) shed 5.56% or 0.370 points to 6.290.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 570 to 189 and 91 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.47% or 0.68 to $45.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.20% or 0.58 to hit $47.74 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.50% or 6.65 to trade at $1332.25 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.00% to 31.710, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2108.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 95.20.
