Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Endesa (MADRID:ELE), which rose 1.10% or 0.188 points to trade at 17.203 at the close. Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS) added 0.65% or 0.061 points to end at 9.480 and Abertis Infr (MADRID:ABE) was up 0.62% or 0.095 points to 15.310 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Caixabank SA (MADRID:CABK), which lost 3.27% or 0.145 points to trade at 4.296 in late trade. Obrascon Huarte Lain (MADRID:OHL) declined 2.55% or 0.425 points to end at 16.265 and Int.Airl.Grp (MADRID:ICAG) shed 1.89% or 0.140 points to 7.268.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 144 to 66 and 4 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.31% or 3.70 to $1172.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.26% or 0.77 to hit $60.24 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.59% or 1.02 to trade at $63.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1179, while EUR/GBP rose 0.47% to 0.7134.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 95.66.
