Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS), which rose 2.89% or 0.290 points to trade at 10.310 at the close. Bankinter (MADRID:BKT) added 2.33% or 0.157 points to end at 6.892 and Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MADRID:DIDA) was up 1.89% or 0.135 points to 7.270 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Amadeus IT (MADRID:AMA), which lost 9.73% or 4.025 points to trade at 37.360 in late trade. Int.Airl.Grp (MADRID:ICAG) declined 3.04% or 0.232 points to end at 7.412 and ACS Const. (MADRID:ACS) shed 1.78% or 0.520 points to 28.760.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 117 to 87 and 5 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.56% or 6.70 to $1187.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.96% or 1.20 to hit $60.06 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.08% or 1.36 to trade at $64.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.00% to 1.1264, while EUR/GBP rose 1.07% to 0.7345.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.64% at 95.39.
