Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 1.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 5.20% or 0.426 points to trade at 8.625 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) added 2.19% or 0.125 points to end at 5.833 and Repsol (MC:REP) was up 1.97% or 0.270 points to 13.950 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which lost 0.10% or 0.020 points to trade at 20.880 in late trade. Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL) added 0.05% or 0.01 points to end at 10.63 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) gained 0.09% or 0.010 points to 11.450.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 131 to 42 and 15 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.85% or 10.55 to $1225.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.82% or 0.98 to hit $52.88 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.06% or 1.17 to trade at $55.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.36% to 1.0602, while EUR/GBP fell 0.45% to 0.8480.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 100.99.
