Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were FCC (MADRID:FCC), which rose 2.25% or 0.210 points to trade at 9.558 at the close. Obrascon Huarte Lain (MADRID:OHL) added 1.68% or 0.275 points to end at 16.640 and Endesa (MADRID:ELE) was up 1.66% or 0.290 points to 17.810 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Abengoa B (MADRID:ABGek), which lost 1.42% or 0.044 points to trade at 3.050 in late trade. Jazztel (MADRID:JAZ) declined 0.72% or 0.095 points to end at 13.020 and Gas Natural (MADRID:GAS) shed 0.39% or 0.083 points to 21.142.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 146 to 64 and 3 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.02% or 0.20 to $1172.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.12% or 0.07 to hit $59.63 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.15% or 0.10 to trade at $63.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.58% to 1.1138, while EUR/GBP fell 0.42% to 0.7081.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 95.81.
