Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Acciona (MADRID:ANA), which rose 2.10% or 1.430 points to trade at 69.570 at the close. Abertis Infr (MADRID:ABE) added 2.04% or 0.330 points to end at 16.550 and Mapfre (MADRID:MAP) was up 1.77% or 0.056 points to 3.211 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Abengoa B (MADRID:ABGek), which lost 2.05% or 0.059 points to trade at 2.824 in late trade. Endesa (MADRID:ELE) declined 1.60% or 0.278 points to end at 17.027 and Gas Natural (MADRID:GAS) shed 1.45% or 0.312 points to 21.188.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 118 to 95 and 4 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.34% or 4.10 to $1189.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.23% or 0.74 to hit $61.14 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.82% or 0.56 to trade at $68.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.34% to 1.1336, while EUR/GBP rose 1.02% to 0.7441.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.06% at 94.26.
