Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Power, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p), which rose 2.50% or 4.40 points to trade at 180.60 at the close. United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) added 2.42% or 0.560 points to end at 23.660 and Akron (MCX:AKRN) was up 2.17% or 80.0 points to 3770.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI), which lost 5.63% or 0.0509 points to trade at 0.8530 in late trade. FSK EES (MCX:FEES) declined 5.15% or 0.0088 points to end at 0.1617 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) shed 4.26% or 1.300 points to 29.190.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 120 to 107 and 17 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.93% to 26.760.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.48% or 6.35 to $1311.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.19% or 0.96 to hit $42.95 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.70% or 0.79 to trade at $45.80 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.37% to 65.0075, while EUR/RUB fell 0.44% to 72.506.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.79% at 96.03.
