Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO), which rose 2.46% or 0.0295 points to trade at 1.2275 at the close. ANK Bashneft OAO Pref (MCX:BANE_p) added 2.27% or 34.0 points to end at 1530.0 and VTB (MCX:VTBR) was up 2.22% or 0.0017 points to 0.0795 in late trade.
Biggest losers included E.ON Russia (MCX:EONR), which lost 2.68% or 0.0840 points to trade at 3.0510 in late trade. Surgut (MCX:SNGS) declined 2.17% or 0.750 points to end at 33.850 and Rosneft (MCX:ROSN) shed 2.12% or 5.30 points to 244.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 96 to 92 and 12 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 2.56% to 33.300.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.20% or 2.40 to $1207.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.20% or 0.12 to hit $59.84 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.48% or 0.32 to trade at $65.69 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.21% to 50.113, while EUR/RUB rose 0.55% to 55.354.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 96.48.
