Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were RDR United Company RUSAL PLC (MCX:RUALR), which rose 4.97% or 14.50 points to trade at 306.00 at the close. MiMES Rostelekom OAO Pref (MCX:RTKM_p) added 2.39% or 1.46 points to end at 62.50 and E.ON Russia (MCX:EONR) was up 2.30% or 0.0660 points to 2.9330 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN), which lost 2.96% or 8.90 points to trade at 292.00 in late trade. Sberbank (MCX:SBER) declined 2.04% or 1.44 points to end at 69.17 and Akron (MCX:AKRN) shed 1.86% or 42.0 points to 2220.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 94 to 85 and 11 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.54% to 36.980.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.32% or 3.70 to $1171.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.86% or 1.10 to hit $58.03 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.16% or 0.73 to trade at $62.58 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.22% to 56.160, while EUR/RUB rose 0.92% to 63.071.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.74% at 95.67.
