Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Manufacturing, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO), which rose 3.91% or 0.1485 points to trade at 3.9480 at the close. AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) added 3.56% or 5950 points to end at 172950 and FSK EES (MCX:FEES) was up 3.22% or 0.0061 points to 0.1948 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gazprom (MCX:GAZP), which lost 1.57% or 2.37 points to trade at 148.94 in late trade. Rosneft (MCX:ROSN) declined 1.43% or 4.90 points to end at 336.60 and E.ON Rossiya OAO (MCX:UPRO) shed 1.30% or 0.0380 points to 2.8770.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 118 to 111 and 15 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.80% to 25.070.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.77% or 9.10 to $1187.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.41% or 1.11 to hit $47.17 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.18% or 1.05 to trade at $49.29 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.26% to 64.7809, while EUR/RUB fell 0.40% to 68.550.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 101.48.
