Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 5.22% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Nos SGPS SA (LISBON:NOS), which fell 2.36% or 0.1710 points to trade at 7.0800 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP) fell 2.85% or 0.3125 points to end at 10.6575 and REN (LISBON:RENE) was down 2.85% or 0.0750 points to 2.5610 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP), which lost 11.35% or 0.0096 points to trade at 0.0750 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) declined 9.30% or 0.0400 points to end at 0.3900 and Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) shed 8.98% or 0.2225 points to 2.2545.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 66 to 1 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 2.25% or 1.43 to $61.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.10% or 1.25 to hit $58.38 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.42% or 4.90 to trade at $1178.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.1188, while EUR/GBP rose 0.13% to 0.7099.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.31% at 95.30.
