Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 2.33% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.85 at the close. REN (LISBON:RENE) fell 0.43% or 0.0110 points to end at 2.5360 and J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT) was down 0.47% or 0.0575 points to 12.2925 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA), which lost 9.65% or 0.0580 points to trade at 0.5430 in late trade. Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) declined 7.35% or 0.1670 points to end at 2.1060 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP) shed 6.76% or 0.0058 points to 0.0800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 66 to 2 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.78% or 0.51 to $64.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.71% or 0.43 to hit $59.97 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.72% or 8.50 to trade at $1187.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1275, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.7238.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 95.17.
