Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 2.15% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 2.99% or 0.0040 points to trade at 0.1380 at the close. Montepio (LS:MPIO) added 0.55% or 0.003 points to end at 0.549 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.0000 points to 1.1120 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semapa (LS:SEM), which lost 3.83% or 0.4200 points to trade at 10.5450 in late trade. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) declined 3.77% or 0.5400 points to end at 13.7700 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) shed 3.46% or 0.1030 points to 2.8770.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 33 to 11 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 2.37% or 1.23 to $50.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.57% or 1.30 to hit $49.26 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.09% or 1.15 to trade at $1273.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.34% to 1.1279, while EUR/GBP rose 0.51% to 0.7870.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.35% at 94.43.
