Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 1.74% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 4.45% or 0.0320 points to trade at 0.7510 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 2.35% or 0.0270 points to end at 1.1770 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 0.95% or 0.0590 points to 6.2800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which lost 5.82% or 0.3540 points to trade at 5.7320 in late trade. EDP (LS:EDP) declined 4.96% or 0.1410 points to end at 2.6990 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) shed 3.33% or 0.5200 points to 15.0750.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 26 to 20 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 1.12% or 0.52 to $45.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.35% or 0.61 to hit $44.66 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.56% or 7.15 to trade at $1266.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.0886, while EUR/GBP fell 1.22% to 0.8687.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 98.83.
