Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 1.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.0000 points to trade at 0.1800 at the close. Montepio (LS:MPIO) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 0.474 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was down 0.17% or 0.0050 points to 2.9760 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae (LS:YSO), which lost 3.60% or 0.0250 points to trade at 0.6700 in late trade. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) declined 2.74% or 0.0180 points to end at 0.6390 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) shed 2.09% or 0.0004 points to 0.0187.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 39 to 10 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 1.37% or 0.66 to $49.01 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.53% or 0.70 to hit $46.44 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.34% or 4.55 to trade at $1352.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.75% to 1.1267, while EUR/GBP fell 0.44% to 0.8646.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.77% at 94.84.
