Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 2.18% or 0.0130 points to trade at 0.6100 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 1.89% or 0.0330 points to end at 1.7770 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 0.74% or 0.0010 points to 0.1370 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 2.74% or 0.0009 points to trade at 0.0320 in late trade. EDP (LS:EDP) declined 1.98% or 0.0630 points to end at 3.1120 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) shed 1.60% or 0.1030 points to 6.3250.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 35 to 14 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 3.71% or 1.69 to $47.21 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.07% or 1.37 to hit $46.03 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.70% or 8.90 to trade at $1273.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.54% to 1.1433, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.7904.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.50% at 93.75.
