Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Portucel (LISBON:PTI), which rose 1.19% or 0.0370 points to trade at 3.1370 at the close. REN (LISBON:RENE) added 0.92% or 0.0240 points to end at 2.6380 and Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) was up 0.85% or 0.01 points to 0.71 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF), which lost 8.70% or 0.0004 points to trade at 0.0042 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP) declined 4.26% or 0.0024 points to end at 0.0540 and Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) shed 1.28% or 0.0260 points to 2.0020.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 33 to 14 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 3.62% or 1.79 to $47.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.45% or 1.59 to hit $44.46 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.23% or 2.60 to trade at $1118.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1165, while EUR/GBP fell 0.59% to 0.7304.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 96.16.
