Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which rose 4.64% or 0.1100 points to trade at 2.4790 at the close. Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) added 2.42% or 0.0130 points to end at 0.5500 and Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) was up 1.41% or 0.0485 points to 3.4865 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA), which lost 2.60% or 0.0115 points to trade at 0.4305 in late trade. Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) declined 1.47% or 0.0001 points to end at 0.0067 and REN (LISBON:RENE) shed 1.31% or 0.0350 points to 2.6460.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 42 to 23 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 1.00% or 0.64 to $62.85 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.23% or 0.74 to hit $59.53 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1172.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1200, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.7120.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 95.42.
