Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which rose 2.55% or 0.0740 points to trade at 2.9800 at the close. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 2.04% or 0.0120 points to end at 0.6000 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was up 2.00% or 0.2150 points to 10.9650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 5.13% or 0.0012 points to trade at 0.0222 in late trade. Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) declined 3.56% or 0.0410 points to end at 1.1120 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 2.41% or 0.0220 points to 0.8910.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 26 to 19 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 1.14% or 0.60 to $51.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.42% or 0.73 to hit $50.50 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.88% or 11.15 to trade at $1273.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.67% to 1.1319, while EUR/GBP fell 0.36% to 0.7826.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.46% at 94.02.
