Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS), which rose 0.84% or 0.0460 points to trade at 5.5420 at the close. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 0.43% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.7030 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was up 0.36% or 0.0100 points to 2.7580 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which lost 4.03% or 0.0670 points to trade at 1.5970 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 3.79% or 0.0463 points to end at 1.1750 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) shed 1.07% or 0.0020 points to 0.1850.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 28 to 20 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.20% or 0.10 to $49.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.27% or 0.13 to hit $48.16 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.69% or 20.45 to trade at $1190.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.0561, while EUR/GBP fell 0.89% to 0.8476.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.52% at 101.62.
