Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 1.21% or 0.0210 points to trade at 1.7510 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) added 1.17% or 0.0690 points to end at 5.9550 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 0.55% or 0.0800 points to 14.6200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which lost 1.11% or 0.0070 points to trade at 0.6230 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 1.10% or 0.0002 points to end at 0.0180 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) shed 0.78% or 0.0280 points to 3.5500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 30 to 15 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 1.66% or 0.83 to $49.32 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.78% or 0.85 to hit $46.79 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.04% or 0.55 to trade at $1326.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.1175, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8543.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 95.66.
