Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 3.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA), which rose 13.29% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.90 at the close. Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) added 9.32% or 0.0480 points to end at 0.5630 and Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) was up 6.95% or 0.1515 points to 2.3325 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA), which lost 2.39% or 0.0115 points to trade at 0.4695 in late trade. Semapa (LISBON:SEM) declined 1.17% or 0.1500 points to end at 12.7000 and REN (LISBON:RENE) gained 1.50% or 0.0400 points to 2.7060.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 61 to 8 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 2.09% or 1.32 to $64.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.49% or 0.90 to hit $61.28 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.55% or 6.50 to trade at $1177.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.54% to 1.1165, while EUR/GBP fell 0.84% to 0.7106.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.20% at 95.65.
