Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 2.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF), which rose 7.94% or 0.0005 points to trade at 0.0068 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP) added 6.55% or 0.0051 points to end at 0.0830 and Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) was up 6.26% or 0.1285 points to 2.1805 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP), which lost 1.33% or 0.1450 points to trade at 10.7950 in late trade. J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT) added 0.19% or 0.0225 points to end at 11.9925 and Semapa (LISBON:SEM) gained 0.72% or 0.0925 points to 12.9075.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 58 to 10 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.64% or 0.41 to $62.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.60% or 0.36 to hit $59.61 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.47% or 17.70 to trade at $1184.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.1358, while EUR/GBP rose 0.41% to 0.7178.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 94.43.
