Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 2.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA), which rose 16.48% or 0.0435 points to trade at 0.3075 at the close. Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) added 4.98% or 0.1780 points to end at 3.7510 and Semapa (LISBON:SEM) was up 4.40% or 0.5525 points to 13.1175 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA), which lost 0.65% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.77 in late trade. EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu) added 0.16% or 0.0100 points to end at 6.3810 and Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) gained 0.20% or 0.0010 points to 0.5090.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 58 to 11 and 1 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 1.43% or 0.72 to $49.46 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.75% or 1.19 to hit $42.11 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.70% or 7.90 to trade at $1115.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1135, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.7140.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 96.51.
