Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 1.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF), which rose 4.48% or 0.0003 points to trade at 0.0070 at the close. EDP (LISBON:EDP) added 3.76% or 0.1320 points to end at 3.6430 and Semapa (LISBON:SEM) was up 3.76% or 0.4800 points to 13.2300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Portucel (LISBON:PTI), which lost 7.54% or 0.3295 points to trade at 4.0405 in late trade. Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) declined 3.59% or 0.0240 points to end at 0.6450 and Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) shed 0.87% or 0.0250 points to 2.8650.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 50 to 17 and 1 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was down 0.30% or 0.20 to $65.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.61% or 0.36 to hit $59.30 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.40% or 4.70 to trade at $1186.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.43% to 1.1218, while EUR/GBP fell 1.73% to 0.7261.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 94.81.
