Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 10.67% or 0.0019 points to trade at 0.0197 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 3.93% or 0.1140 points to end at 3.0140 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was up 3.01% or 0.0730 points to 2.4990 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 4.94% or 0.0080 points to trade at 0.1540 in late trade. REN (LS:RENE) declined 1.71% or 0.0440 points to end at 2.5360 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) shed 0.69% or 0.050 points to 7.220.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 35 to 15 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.58% or 0.27 to $46.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.42% or 0.19 to hit $45.33 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.41% or 5.60 to trade at $1356.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.1052, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.8529.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.01% at 96.34.
