Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 1.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT), which rose 7.09% or 0.8625 points to trade at 13.0325 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP) added 1.71% or 0.0015 points to end at 0.0890 and Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) was up 1.61% or 0.01 points to 0.94 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF), which lost 1.47% or 0.0001 points to trade at 0.0067 in late trade. Semapa (LISBON:SEM) declined 1.08% or 0.1400 points to end at 12.7900 and Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) shed 1.05% or 0.0405 points to 3.8205.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 37 to 29 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.89% or 0.58 to $66.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.87% or 0.51 to hit $59.09 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 2.44% or 29.50 to trade at $1180.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.66% to 1.1201, while EUR/GBP rose 1.38% to 0.7308.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 95.10.
