Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.81%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI), which rose 6.49% or 0.0620 points to trade at 1.0180 at the close. Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) added 1.69% or 0.0001 points to end at 0.0060 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP) was up 1.61% or 0.0010 points to 0.0630 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA), which lost 1.99% or 0.0055 points to trade at 0.2715 in late trade. Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) declined 1.95% or 0.01 points to end at 0.76 and Sonae (LISBON:YSO) shed 1.26% or 0.0155 points to 1.2185.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 32 to 30 and 1 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 0.25% or 0.12 to $49.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.65% or 0.28 to hit $42.83 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.53% or 5.90 to trade at $1118.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1076, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.7103.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 96.83.
