Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 3.28% or 0.0550 points to trade at 1.7300 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 1.67% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.1830 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 1.59% or 0.0920 points to 5.8860 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco BPI (LS:BBPI), which lost 0.45% or 0.0050 points to trade at 1.1060 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 0.38% or 0.030 points to end at 7.850 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) shed 0.14% or 0.0200 points to 14.5400.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 29 to 12 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 0.10% or 0.05 to $49.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.13% or 0.06 to hit $47.39 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.20% or 2.65 to trade at $1327.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.1232, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.8541.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.52% at 95.17.
