Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Support Services, Telecoms and Software & Computer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 1.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Randstad (AMS:RAND), which rose 4.30% or 2.27 points to trade at 55.10 at the close. Vopak (AMS:VOPA) added 3.99% or 1.80 points to end at 46.95 and Aalberts Industries (AMS:AALB) was up 2.70% or 0.74 points to 28.36 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL), which added 0.10% or 0.01 points to trade at 15.11 in late trade. DSM Kon (AMS:DSMN) added 0.15% or 0.08 points to end at 53.66 and TNT Express (AMS:TNTE) gained 0.20% or 0.015 points to 7.655.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 170 to 73 and 2 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 5.28% to 20.35.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.41% or 0.85 to $60.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.06% or 0.69 to hit $65.56 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.75% or 8.80 to trade at $1186.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1295, while EUR/GBP fell 0.55% to 0.7294.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 94.80.
