Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.30%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which rose 0.94% or 0.13 points to trade at 13.91 at the close. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) added 0.91% or 2.10 points to end at 232.85 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) was up 0.88% or 0.66 points to 75.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Valeo SA (PA:VLOF), which lost 1.48% or 0.92 points to trade at 61.10 in late trade. Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) declined 1.38% or 0.26 points to end at 18.16 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) shed 1.05% or 0.85 points to 80.40.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Europcar Groupe SA (PA:EUCAR) which rose 3.75% to 12.73, Gecina Nom. (PA:GFCP) which was up 2.04% to settle at 140.30 and Spie SA (PA:SPIE) which gained 1.87% to close at 25.550.
The worst performers were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was down 2.83% to 5.400 in late trade, Ipsen (PA:IPN) which lost 2.22% to settle at 125.30 and Sopra Steria Group SA (PA:SOPR) which was down 2.03% to 144.50 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 336 to 255 and 111 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 0.70% to 14.18.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.62% or 7.78 to $1257.18 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.56% or 0.24 to hit $42.98 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.64% or 0.29 to trade at $45.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.38% to 1.1194, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8794.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 96.97.
