Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Automobiles & Parts, Aerospace & Defense and Industrial Engineering sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.25%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Valeo (PARIS:VLOF), which rose 4.17% or 5.65 points to trade at 141.10 at the close. Peugeot SA (PARIS:PEUP) added 3.33% or 0.58 points to end at 18.02 and Airbus Group (PARIS:AIR) was up 2.17% or 1.25 points to 58.94 in late trade.
Biggest losers included L'Oreal (PARIS:OREP), which lost 1.19% or 1.95 points to trade at 161.80 in late trade. Vivendi (PARIS:VIV) declined 0.83% or 0.20 points to end at 23.30 and Carrefour (PARIS:CARR) shed 0.83% or 0.24 points to 28.51.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Valeo (PARIS:VLOF) which rose 4.17% to 141.10, Imerys (PARIS:IMTP) which was up 3.78% to settle at 70.27 and Numericable Pr (PARIS:NUME) which gained 3.78% to close at 48.000.
The worst performers were Tarkett (PARIS:TKTT) which was down 4.26% to 19.98 in late trade, Solocal Group (PARIS:LOCAL) which lost 4.21% to settle at 0.410 and GTT (PARIS:GTT) which was down 2.67% to 56.53 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 498 to 394 and 69 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 0.17% to 27.13.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.02% or 0.20 to $1202.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.07% or 1.26 to hit $59.56 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.56% or 1.65 to trade at $62.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1339, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.7144.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 94.39.
