Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 2.78% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Huhtamaki Oyj (HEL:HUH1V), which fell 0.48% or 0.13 points to trade at 26.74 at the close. Elisa Oyj (HEL:ELI1V) fell 1.35% or 0.40 points to end at 29.29 and Fortum Oyj (HEL:FUM1V) was down 1.50% or 0.21 points to 13.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tieto Oyj (HEL:TIE1V), which lost 7.70% or 1.76 points to trade at 21.11 in late trade. Outotec Oyj (HEL:OTE1V) declined 6.17% or 0.234 points to end at 3.560 and Konecranes Oyj (HEL:KCR1V) shed 5.95% or 1.35 points to 21.35.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 140 to 30 and 4 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 0.93% or 0.45 to $48.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.63% or 0.28 to hit $44.76 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.83% or 20.70 to trade at $1152.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.1240, while EUR/GBP rose 0.50% to 0.7372.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.39% at 96.02.
