Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 2.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V), which rose 0.24% or 0.06 points to trade at 24.70 at the close. Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) fell 0.11% or 0.04 points to end at 37.49 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) was down 0.26% or 0.09 points to 34.37 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which lost 4.65% or 0.1940 points to trade at 3.9740 in late trade. Konecranes Oyj (HE:KCR1V) declined 4.50% or 1.04 points to end at 22.05 and YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) shed 4.25% or 0.28 points to 6.19.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 131 to 35 and 23 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 4.09% or 2.05 to $48.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 4.39% or 2.15 to hit $46.84 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.34% or 18.00 to trade at $1357.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.1091, while EUR/GBP rose 1.26% to 0.8497.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.50% at 96.09.
