Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V), which rose 1.37% or 0.44 points to trade at 32.64 at the close. Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) added 0.84% or 0.032 points to end at 3.842 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) was up 0.75% or 0.11 points to 14.68 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV), which lost 2.56% or 0.99 points to trade at 37.70 in late trade. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) declined 2.05% or 0.115 points to end at 5.490 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) shed 1.67% or 0.076 points to 4.466.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 108 to 76 and 15 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 0.15% or 0.07 to $46.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $45.86 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.22% or 2.75 to trade at $1227.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.0706, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8597.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 100.26.
