Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 2.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which rose 10.59% or 0.396 points to trade at 4.136 at the close. Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) added 6.66% or 1.59 points to end at 25.45 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) was up 6.60% or 0.4350 points to 7.0300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which lost 7.05% or 2.75 points to trade at 36.28 in late trade. Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) added 0.28% or 0.010 points to end at 3.550 and Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) gained 0.32% or 0.11 points to 34.41.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 94 to 91 and 12 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 1.43% or 0.66 to $46.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.65% or 0.74 to hit $45.72 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.22% or 2.75 to trade at $1277.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.85% to 1.0932, while EUR/GBP fell 1.34% to 0.8785.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.59% at 98.46.
