Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 2.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V), which rose 5.00% or 0.82 points to trade at 17.22 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 4.85% or 0.1820 points to end at 3.9380 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) was up 4.12% or 1.32 points to 33.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA), which lost 0.49% or 0.025 points to trade at 5.080 in late trade. Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V) added 0.47% or 0.035 points to end at 7.560 and Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV) gained 0.52% or 0.20 points to 38.32.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 145 to 29 and 20 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 0.26% or 0.13 to $49.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.27% or 0.13 to hit $48.20 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.36% or 17.95 to trade at $1338.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1141, while EUR/GBP rose 0.82% to 0.8402.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 95.71.
