Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 7.13% or 0.6000 points to trade at 9.0100 at the close. Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) added 5.75% or 0.242 points to end at 4.450 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) was up 3.32% or 1.17 points to 36.36 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV), which lost 7.24% or 3.38 points to trade at 43.29 in late trade. Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) declined 4.42% or 2.00 points to end at 43.24 and Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) shed 3.55% or 0.52 points to 14.11.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 72 to 65 and 14 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was up 0.09% or 0.05 to $56.85 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.15% or 0.08 to hit $53.80 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.78% or 9.45 to trade at $1217.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.0793, while EUR/GBP rose 1.14% to 0.8604.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 99.58.
