Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV), which rose 2.35% or 0.170 points to trade at 7.415 at the close. Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) added 1.15% or 0.40 points to end at 35.12 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) was up 1.08% or 0.0360 points to 3.3560 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV), which lost 0.72% or 0.25 points to trade at 34.67 in late trade. Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V) declined 0.62% or 0.08 points to end at 12.73 and Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) shed 0.59% or 0.024 points to 4.046.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 91 to 79 and 18 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 3.62% or 1.65 to $47.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.05% or 1.36 to hit $46.02 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.68% or 8.55 to trade at $1273.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.1429, while EUR/GBP rose 0.36% to 0.7902.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.47% at 93.78.
