Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.06% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV), which rose 6.30% or 0.490 points to trade at 8.265 at the close. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V) added 3.64% or 0.54 points to end at 15.37 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) was up 1.84% or 0.17 points to 9.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which lost 12.88% or 0.4160 points to trade at 2.8140 in late trade. YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) declined 5.47% or 0.32 points to end at 5.53 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) shed 3.18% or 0.126 points to 3.840.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 102 to 73 and 6 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 3.07% or 1.62 to $51.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 3.22% or 1.60 to hit $48.03 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.60% or 6.90 to trade at $1162.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1370, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.7408.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 94.81.
