Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Real Estate, Public Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3), which rose 2.94% or 0.69 points to trade at 24.14 at the close. Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA (SA:GOLL4) added 1.83% or 0.14 points to end at 7.78 and Banco Santander Brasil SA (SA:SANB11) was up 1.61% or 0.26 points to 16.36 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (SA:CYRE3), which lost 4.03% or 0.41 points to trade at 9.77 in late trade. Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3) declined 3.41% or 1.02 points to end at 28.86 and Even Construtora e Incorporadora SA (SA:EVEN3) shed 3.23% or 0.11 points to 3.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 188 to 101 and 12 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.12% to 31.28.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $1180.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.21% or 0.73 to hit $60.03 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 0.17% or 0.23 to trade at $131.62 .
USD/BRL was up 0.98% to 3.1206, while EUR/BRL rose 1.03% to 3.5145.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.01% at 94.98.
