Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumption and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 2.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Vale SA (SA:VALE3), which rose 6.16% or 1.23 points to trade at 21.21 at the close. Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4) added 6.12% or 0.68 points to end at 11.79 and Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3) was up 5.96% or 2.41 points to 42.87 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3), which lost 3.06% or 0.95 points to trade at 30.05 in late trade. PDG Realty SA (SA:PDGR3) declined 2.78% or 0.010 points to end at 0.350 and Gerdau SA (SA:GGBR4) shed 2.44% or 0.21 points to 8.41.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 160 to 122 and 9 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.35% to 30.29.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.65% or 7.70 to $1185.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.69% or 1.01 to hit $61.16 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 0.77% or 1.05 to trade at $136.07 .
USD/BRL was up 0.48% to 3.1134, while EUR/BRL rose 0.96% to 3.5271.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.61% at 94.58.
