Proactive Investors - Zinc Media (LON:ZIN) shares flew 9% higher to 94p after it won a contract to produce a series called Top Gun: The Next Generation for Disney 's National Geographic channel.
The series, which will follow the training and selection programmes of the US Navy's best new pilots, will be the production company's largest ever USA television series, worth approximately US$9 million of revenue.
Zinc's REX TV will be given "unprecedented access" to start filming a group of new US Navy officers undertaking the gruelling Advanced Flight Training Programme from later this year into 2024.
Final delivery of the programme will be in 2025, following post production from Zinc's Bumblebee arm.
Zinc chief exec Mark Browning said: "This is an outstanding new series which comes with the most exclusive access that Zinc has secured. We have earned the trust of the U.S. Navy because of our global reputation for the highest quality television production."
National Geographic Channel, a joint venture between The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) and the National Geographic Society, is included on the Disney+ and Hulu platforms.
