Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Sunday, as gains in the Telecoms, Transport and Real Estate & Construction sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Insurance, Consumer Staples and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.42% to hit a new 1-month high, while the ADX General index declined 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC), which rose 5.59% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.510 at the close. Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) added 4.42% or 0.05 points to end at 1.18 and Deyaar Development PJSC (DU:DEYR) was up 1.68% or 0.010 points to 0.607 in late trade.
Biggest losers included National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC), which lost 9.73% or 0.330 points to trade at 3.060 in late trade. National General Insurance Co PSC (DU:NGIN) declined 8.14% or 0.18 points to end at 2.03 and Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) shed 2.43% or 0.050 points to 2.010.
The top performers on the ADX General were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which rose 14.29% to 0.480, Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which was up 4.17% to settle at 3.75 and Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which gained 2.16% to close at 1.420.
The worst performers were Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was down 10.00% to 0.9000 in late trade, Ad Islamic Bk (AD:ADIB) which lost 2.33% to settle at 3.770 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was down 1.75% to 0.560 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 15 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 9 fell and 8 advanced, while 6 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $45.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.34% or 0.16 to hit $46.56 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.40% or 5.45 to trade at $1367.55 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6729, while EUR/AED fell 0.09% to 4.0595.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 96.31.
