Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Services, Finance & Investment and Transport sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Telecoms, Insurance and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.12%, while the ADX General index lost 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA), which rose 7.41% or 0.08 points to trade at 1.16 at the close. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) added 5.37% or 0.052 points to end at 1.020 and National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) was up 4.55% or 0.080 points to 1.840 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which lost 2.47% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.513 in late trade. Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) declined 1.69% or 0.008 points to end at 0.465 and Dubai Islamic Bank (DU:DISB) shed 1.49% or 0.080 points to 5.300.
The top performers on the ADX General were Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which rose 13.70% to 0.8300, Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was up 8.33% to settle at 0.390 and National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which gained 6.38% to close at 5.000.
The worst performers were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was down 8.19% to 1.57 in late trade, Natl Bk Of Rak (AD:RAKB) which lost 2.60% to settle at 4.87 and Emirates Telec (AD:ETEL) which was down 1.02% to 19.40 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 22 to 13 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 12 rose and 6 declined, while 6 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.69% or 0.35 to $50.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.35% or 0.18 to hit $51.60 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.23% or 2.95 to trade at $1264.75 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.12% to 4.0013.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 98.56.
