Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Sunday, as gains in the Transport, Insurance and Banking sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Telecoms, Real Estate & Construction and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.79%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which rose 1.49% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.477 at the close. Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) added 1.03% or 0.007 points to end at 0.684 and Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) was up 0.87% or 0.03 points to 3.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR), which lost 4.84% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.180 in late trade. Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) declined 2.30% or 0.014 points to end at 0.596 and Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR) shed 1.87% or 0.120 points to 6.300.
The top performers on the ADX General were Methaq (AD:METH) which rose 5.77% to 1.100, Emirates Telec (AD:ETEL) which was up 4.33% to settle at 13.25 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which gained 1.72% to close at 8.30.
The worst performers were National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was down 9.90% to 4.73 in late trade, Natl Co Bldg M (AD:BILD) which lost 9.62% to settle at 0.470 and Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 9.20% to 3.06 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 5; on the Abu Dhabi, 12 fell and 9 advanced, while 3 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.28% or 1.06 to $45.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.76% or 1.40 to hit $49.28 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.32% or 3.60 to trade at $1120.90 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6729, while EUR/AED rose 0.18% to 4.0945.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 96.26.
